Frequently asked questions

Yes — Maicasa is free to download and core features (manual task tracking, contents inventory) are free to use. AI features (property scan, photo recognition, AI chat, cost estimates, inspection PDF import) are part of the paid Home plan from $8.99/month.
You can use Maicasa as a guest to try it out. Creating an account lets you sync across devices, recover your data if you change phone, and access your subscription on a new install.
AI features require an active internet connection and a Home subscription. Check your mobile data or Wi-Fi, confirm your subscription is active under Settings → Subscription, then close and reopen the app. If the issue persists, email info@maisoftware.app.
Add your property by address. Maicasa researches it across listing data, council records and climate risk databases, then generates a tailored maintenance plan with cost estimates based on your property's age, type and location. The full scan typically takes 30–60 seconds.
Yes. From your property's task list, tap the upload icon and select your inspection PDF. Maicasa reads the report and converts every defect, recommendation and maintenance item into a tracked, prioritised task — typically in under a minute.
The app is designed for Australian properties (council data, FY-aligned budgets, AUD costs). It will work in other regions but cost estimates and regulatory references won't be locally accurate — expanded country support is on the roadmap.
Subscriptions purchased in-app are managed through your Apple ID. On your iPhone: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Maicasa. Web subscriptions are managed via the Stripe customer portal — email us if you need a portal link. You keep access until the end of the current billing period.
Yes — landlords and investors can manage maintenance and contents across multiple properties from one account. Contents inventory tracks fixtures, fittings and depreciable plant separately so EOFY records are tidy.
Your property details, tasks, budgets and contents inventory. Photos and documents you share with the AI are processed by Anthropic's Claude API and not stored beyond the session. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
Uninstalling the app removes locally stored data. To delete cloud-synced data, email info@maisoftware.app from your account address — we'll respond within 30 days.

Common fixes

App crashes on launch
Force-close and reopen. If it persists, delete and reinstall — your tasks sync from the cloud once you sign in.
Tasks not saving
Check your internet connection. Maicasa syncs to a cloud database and a connection is needed for saves to persist.
Property scan stalled
Each step saves independently — pull to refresh on the property screen, then tap "resume scan" to retry just the failed steps.
Photo not recognised
Make sure the photo is clear and well-lit. HEIC photos from older iPhones can be slow — the app converts them automatically.
